Partner Cards, applications, and payments
Citi's partner-card business ran on roughly 85 partner brands — L.L.Bean, Sunoco, and others — each needing its own co-branded payment and account experience. Every one of them was being hand-built from static Photoshop files, re-translated into code from scratch by engineering each time. Onboarding a single partner took about six weeks, and duplicate, one-off code kept reintroducing the same bugs across implementations.
Role: Lead Product Designer
Collaborated on: component architecture, documentation frameworks, iconography, implementation QA, and motion behaviors
Platform scope: Credit application, payments, account management, partner onboarding, account dashboards, rewards points, fully responsive web and mobile
What I built
A governed white-label system: shared spacing tokens, three controlled typographic families, responsive breakpoint rules, and ADA-compliant components engineering could implement directly instead of rebuilding from static files. Partner brands got real visual flexibility — their own colors, their own typography reference sheet — inside a structure that kept every implementation consistent, accessible, and fast to ship.
Results
Partner onboarding: ~6 weeks → 6 build days (9 days total to approval and launch)
50+ partner brands, 100+ implementations supported
ADA-compliant components meant accessibility was validated once per component, not once per partner
Reduced duplicate engineering effort and recurring bugs from the old Photoshop-to-code workflow
